A Letter to Your Future Self Before Graduation
Graduation is one of the rare moments life forces an actual pause — one chapter closing before the next one has fully started. Most people spend that pause on logistics: caps, gowns, photos. A letter written in the days just before is worth more than one written after, because it catches you at the exact hinge point, not after the next chapter has already started overwriting it.
What you actually learned
Not the syllabus — the real thing. Who you became over these years, what broke you and what rebuilt you, what you believed on day one that you don't believe anymore. That's the part a certificate doesn't capture and a letter can.
What you're taking with you, and what you're leaving here
Name the friendships you intend to keep deliberately, not by accident. Name the version of yourself you're glad to be leaving behind — the anxious fresher, the person who barely prayed, whoever it was. Being specific about what you're leaving matters as much as what you're taking.
Seal it to your first work anniversary, or simply a year out, and it becomes a real marker of whether the next chapter took you where this one hoped it would.
Write a letter tonight. Seal it to a date that means something.
