This lists exactly what Amāna stores in your browser (cookies and local storage together, since they do the same job here), why, and how you can control it. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data more broadly.
Strictly necessary — no consent required, can't be turned off
These keep the service itself working and don't require your consent under UK/EU cookie law:

Analytics — no consent required
We use Vercel Analytics site-wide. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't collect anything that identifies you individually, and doesn't require consent under UK/EU rules for exactly that reason.
Advertising — only with your consent
Google AdSense helps keep Amāna free to use, and its script is present across the site. Until you click Accept on the consent banner, it runs with advertising storage and personalisation denied (Google Consent Mode v2) — rejecting it, or never answering, means no advertising cookies are set for you at all. If accepted, Google may set cookies including (this list can change on Google's end) __gads, __gpi, and IDE for ad delivery and frequency — see Google's own cookie policy for the current, authoritative list. Withdraw consent any time via adssettings.google.com or by clearing this site's local storage in your browser.
Other third parties you may hit along the way
- Google Maps — if you choose postal delivery and use the address lookup, what you type is sent to Google to suggest matching addresses, and Google may set its own cookies for that. This only loads if you actually opt into postal delivery.
- Stripe — paying for postal delivery or a store item takes you to Stripe's own checkout page, which sets its own cookies under Stripe's own policy, not ours.
How to control any of this
Reject or never accept the blog's ad-consent banner to keep AdSense cookies off entirely. Clear your browser's cookies and local storage for this site at any time to reset all of the above. Blocking the strictly-necessary ones will simply sign you out and stop drafts from autosaving — the core service still works, just without those conveniences.
